+ + + Anian Friedrich starts for Germany at the Eurofleurs

Comparable to the European Cup of Florists, young talents under the age of 27 compete for the title of junior champion at the Eurofleurs. The competition takes place in such a way that the young florists only arrive with their toolbox and are only confronted with the tasks on site. All participants have the same materials at their disposal. They can therefore only prepare themselves to a limited extent. What is needed is spontaneous creativity, craftsmanship and coolness.

The preliminary competition to decide who will compete for Germany was basically organized in exactly the same way as Eurofleurs. After an online application round, four female florists and one male florist were invited to the competition in Essen by the Fachverband Deutscher Floristen (FDF) and the Fleurop Academy. There they first had to tie a bouquet, then on the following day they had to fill a container and make a flower arrangement on stage. After this first round, it was clear that Ramona Kohout, Nicole Westermeier and Anian Friedrich had reached the final.

At the final on the Thursday of the fair, two more tasks were on the agenda, the task was similar to the first round: one piece with black plug-in foam, one with natural plug-in aids. In the end, Anian Friedrich was announced as the winner. He will compete for Germany at Eurofleurs in August.

Eurofleurs 2023 will be held August 22–26, 2023, at the historic Volcji Potok Park arboretum near the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. Sustainability and “back to nature” are announced as the main themes of Eurofleurs 2023.
